HOW DO SHELLS GROW???

Many animals with shells are born with
a small shell. As the animal get older,
its shell grows bigger.

Shelled animals get calcium carbonates
and other minerals from water and food
they eat.

They have special organs that turn
the minerals into shell material that
they secretes in layers.

Example;oyster makes a pearl in the same way
as it makes its own shell.

WHY DO PIPES BREAK WHEN WATER FREEZES??

The pipes break because water expands when
it freezes. Its mean that water can
break steel. That's exactly right.

The molecular structure of water causes it
to expand rather than contract(getting smaller),
when exposed to cold temperatures.

So,the pipe is full of water when it's liquid,
then the water freezes and becomes ice, which
takes up more space.

Something has to give,so the pipe breaks.

SLIP,SLOP and SLAP!!!

That's not just talk,it's good advice!
slip, slop and slap are 3 S's that every
sun-lovin's camper should know.

First,slip on a shirt(longsleeved if possible)
to protect vulnerable areas like your shoulder
and back.

Then get sloppy and slop on lots of sunscreen
with an SPF(sun protection factor) of 15 or
higher.

Finally, slap on a wide-brimmed hat and you will
keep 70 percent of the sun's rays off your face
and neck.

Try it to know the truth..

Why don’t we use renewable energy all the time??..

Unlike natural gas and coal, we can’t store up wind and sunshine to use whenever we need to make more electricity. If the wind doesn’t blow or the sun hides behind clouds, there wouldn’t be enough power for everyone. Another reason we used fossil fuels like coal and natural gas is because they are cheaper. Its costs more money to make electricity from wind and most people don’t want to pay more on their monthly utility bills.

How does solar panel work?

The solar collectors we see on rooftops use a process called photovoltaic. Silicon, an element found in sand, is used to convert sunlight directly into energy. If we have a solar-powered watch or calculator, we’re using photovoltaics!
